Great Saber is an awesome looking kit, but a bugger to handle. Let me tell you, getting the second photograph above took ages, because everytime I tried to pose him he just fell apart!
Maybe that's his revenge for me taking so long to build him!
So after months and months I've finally finished my HMM Great Saber There's a reason he got the nickname Sorbet is due to a conversation between me and Pirate about a HMM Geno Saurer on eBay listed as Great Sauber. It mutated from that point XD
Great Saber is an awesome looking kit, but a bugger to handle. Let me tell you, getting the second photograph above took ages, because everytime I tried to pose him he just fell apart! Maybe that's his revenge for me taking so long to build him! I got a payment request from Ami Ami for my HMM Great Saber this afternoon. Bit premature, but I want to call it Coal. I looked a photo of it the other day, and the colour just screamed coal. Additionally I got lucky last night and sniped an OER Zolkon for £8. Considering this is supposed to be one of the rarest OERs confirmed to be released, I was incredibly surprised. And the Revoltech Blade Liger has finally been put up for pre-order! Still not sure about that neck, but I'm pleased to see that the tail is jointed. That's the kind of thing the HMM sorely needed.
Still no word on the Revoltech Geno Breaker yet. So, the past few days I've been going through that Zoids 2 lot and cleaning and repairing what I can. Ultra Saurus was the first job, since he was already out of the box and had a space waiting for him. He had quite a few issues when I first checked him. He has some sun damage, particularly on the caps, and faded stickers. He also suffered from a snapped cannon and leg to cannon connector, as well as some missing and gouged caps. Astoundingly he's not missing any parts aside from those caps. He even has the extra vehicles that I was certain would be long gone. As far as the cap situation goes, I discovered some caps hiding within the leg armour, that worked out to just enough to cover all the external points. Since they weren't really needed in there, I moved them, so he at least looks complete from the outside. I do plan to completely replace those sun damaged caps eventually, provided I can find appropriate replacements. Cruncher and Red Wing were worked on together Cruncher is probably the most complete and undamaged I've found thus far, suffering from little more than a snapped leg peg, and caps so sun damaged they disintegrated on removal. Thankfully I was able to replace his destroyed cap set with identical caps, and glue his leg peg back on, so he needs no further work. Red Wing on the other hand, was probably the Zoid suffering from the worst damage. His wings were snapped in many places, his front legs snapped off and some caps missing or disintegrated on removal. I've patched him up as best I could and given him some similar caps to make up the missing ones, but his right leg glued on a little wonky. He still walks... just... clockwise ^^; Red Wing was also bagged with the wrong colour pilot. But there are a load of gold pilots included in the extra parts bag, so no problem to switch. I've had to clean up some space for the Zoids that'll be staying with me, and my existing Zoids are a little confused Saber RV: "What's going on? Are we moving again?"
Saber Loris: "Nono, I do believe she's cleaning the room" Saber X: "HAHAHAHAHA! No, really, what's she doing? Gilvader: "WHEEEEEEEEE!" |
